The nucleopolyhedrovirus (NPV) from the corn earworm, Helicoverpa zea (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) was the most active virus tested against the corn earworm, followed by the NPV from the cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). NPVs from the celery looper, alfalfa looper, wax moth, diamondback moth, and Rachiplusia ou also were tested but exhibited poor-fair activities. The addition of the gypsy moth (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae) virus increased the activities of all viruses tested.
