The Cybercockroach is a web-based site that provides visual presentation of the external and internal anatomy of the American cockroach. It is designed to assist students in visualizing basic anatomy and gaining an understanding of how the various insect parts function. Images were obtained using macro- and microscopic photography and transmission and scanning electron microscopy. Two versions are presented. A basic version is intended for general biology students. An advanced version is intended for more advanced entomology students. In addition, video clips of selected activities and behaviors are included. Plans are to periodically update the site with new visual information as it becomes available.
