We demonstrated the map position of Pgm (phosphoglucomutase) locus on autosome IV of Musca domestica L. by using three and five point linkage test crosses. Test strains had visible mutant markers (car, bwb, cyw and AABYS). A total of 563 offspring were electrophoretically analyzed from the first single pair mating cross. The cyw (curly wing) locus (IVth autosome) was found to be linked to Pgm locus with a recombination frequency of 0.169 (c2=270.235, P<0.001). A total of 1175 offspring were analyzed for the second cross and the Pgm locus was found to be linked to the ye (yellow eye) locus (IVth autosome) with a distance of 1.1 cM (c2=1481.398, P<0.001). Combining the distances calculated from this study with the previously published data, the linkage map of the Musca domestica L. IVth autosome was redrawn.
