In 2000, a classical biological control program was begun against the glassy-winged sharpshooter, Homalodisca coagulata (Homoptera: Cicadellidae), in California. This poster gives an overview of the multi-agency effort targeting this pest over the past 2 years. The establishment and operation of two parasitoid mass-rearing facilities are described, as well as the results from laboratory and field evaluations of new egg parasitoids, field releases and recoveries, and the results from foreign exploration for new species of parasitoids. A discussion is presented of progress made, problems confronted, and directions being pursued as the program progresses.
