The goal of this project is to provide training on sustainable, site-specific management of imported fire ants. Grants from the Southern Region SARE Professional Development Program and the Alabama Fire Ant Management Project were used to develop trainng materials on fire ant biology and management. County Extension agents helped design and develop the materials, which include slide sets/CD ROMs, videos, posters, mound models, and specimen mounts. These supplement four Alabama Cooperative Extension System publications and two regional publications on fire ants. These materials are being used by county agents to train other trainers and influential stakeholders in sustainable fire ant management.
