Sensitivity of cabbage looper strains to variation in pheromone blend composition

Charlene N. Rucker and Kenneth F. Haynes. University of Kentucky, Department of Entomology, S-225 Agricultural Science Center - North, Lexington, KY

The 6 component pheromone blend of the cabbage looper moth was manipulated by increasing minor components separately to the level of the major component. We tested the hypothesis that various strains of cabbage looper have differing sensitivity to these synthetic blends.

Species 1: Lepidoptera Noctuidae Trichoplusia ni (cabbage looper)
Keywords: chemical communication, wind tunnel
