Comparison of two trap types for monitoring the population of western corn rootworm Diabrotica virgifera virgifera

Jasdeep Singh and Gerald E. Wilde. Kansas State University, Department of Entomology, 123 Waters Hall, Manhattan, KS

Abstract: A trap used in Europe and a trap developed by Trece Inc. were placed alternatively inside the field and on the margins of corn to monitor western corn rootworm populations. Traps were examined on weekly basis. Mixed model analysis was used to compare total trap catch, sex ratio, and other rootworm species caught in the two different traps. Weeks were treated as a repeated measure. Results will be discussed.
