Description and neotype designation for Anopheles pseudopunctipennis (Diptera: Culicidae)

Anopheles (Anopheles) psedopunctipennis (Diptera: Culicidae), is a major malaria vector in Central and South America. A neotype has been designated and a detailed description of this neotype is given. In addition, some diagnostic characters for separating An. (Ano.) pseudopunctipennis from closely related species are also given to assist field workers.
