An ecotype of Apis mellifera (Hymenoptera:Apidae) from Les Landes region of France

The native range of Apis mellifera includes all of France, where the species shows considerable diversity in various habitats. Adaptation to local conditions and floral sources has led to differentiation into several ecotypes. We have identified a population from Les Landes region of France using molecular and morphological data.
