Feeding behavior of Tydeidae (Acari: Prostigmata) on Florida citrus

Field observations and laboratory experiments were conducted to study the feeding behavior of Lorryia formosa Cooreman, Tydeus californicus (Banks), T. gloveri (Ashmead), Pseudolorryia mumai (Baker) and Parapronematus acaciae Baker in Florida. Pollen of ice plant, cattail and oak were evaluated along with two eriophyid mite species and Panonychus citri (McGregor) eggs. Fungi were identified as food sources.
