Jamee Lee Brandhorst-Hubbard and Daniel A. Potter. University of Kentucky, Department of Entomology, S225 Agricultural Science Center North, Lexington, KY

Calico Scale, Eulecanium cerasorum (Cockerell), is an introduced pest of many landscape tree species, including maples, Acer spp., hackberry, Celtis occidentalis, dogwoods, Cornus spp., and sweetgum, Liquidambar styraciflua. In recent years, E. cerasorum has reached outbreak densities on trees in urban areas of Kentucky. We initiated studies of the seasonal biology and management of E. cerasorum. Data on seasonal biology, within tree distribution, host range, parasitoid activity, and management of E. cerasorum will be presented.

Species 1: Homoptera Coccidae Eulecanium cerasorum (calico Scale)
Keywords: scale insect
