How well can trap captures of plum curculio predict fruit injury in commercial apple orchards?

Ronald J. Prokopy, Gerald Lafleur, and Bradley Chandler. University of Massachusetts, Department of Entomology, Fernhald Hall, Amherst, MA

Three kinds of traps baited with blends of attractive pheromonal and fruit odor were placed in 12 commercial apple orchards in Massachusetts from May to July to capture plum curculios. Comparisons were made between amounts and phenologies of trap captures and amounts and phenologies of fruit injury

Species 1: Coleoptera Curculionidae Conotrachelus nenuphar (plum curculio)
Keywords: trap captures, fruit injury
