Larvae of Tribolium castaneum, the red flour beetle, and Tribolium confusum, the confused flour beetle, were exposed to a volatile formulation of hydroprene (Pointsource). Insecticidal effects included arrested larval growth, morphological deformities in adults, twisted and deformed wings, and incomplete adult emergence. T. castaneum was more susceptible than T. confusum.
