Presence on cherry fruit and leaves, mating, and other activities of Rhagoletis indifferens Curran were documented over 12-h periods(0700-1900h) in Yakima County, WA. Early in the season, males were more abundant and found predominantly on fruit, wheras females were found equally on fruit and leaves. Mating occurred equally on both substrates throughout the day. Highest fly numbers were seen during the warmest times of the day. Movement of flies from the east to south and west sides of the tree, corresponding to movement of the sun, was seen during the day.
