Pseudacteon tricuspis Borgmeier and Pseudacteon curvatus Borgmeier are two decapitating fly species that were released in Louisiana as biological control agents against the red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta Buren). A two year study compared red imported fire ant populations in areas where decapitating flies are well established vs. areas where they do not occur yet.
