High densities (100 per ha) of traps baited with pheromone plus spruce volatiles were tested as a means of suppressing populations of the brown spruce longhorn beetle, Tetropium fuscum (F.), an invasive cerambycid established in Nova Scotia. The percentage of infested bait logs was significantly reduced in treated plots but the mean density of T. fuscum larvae per m2 in bait logs was not.
