For one year, pitfall and flight-intercept traps were used to systematically collect beetles in three Winn Parish saline prairie sites and adjacent forest habitats. Community diversity was analyzed with respect to species identities and their abundances. Species unique to each site were observed. Differences in diversity between sites and across a naturally-occurring ecological gradient were also found.
