A new species of Podapolipidae (Acari: Heterostigmata), parasite of Aidemona azteca (Orthoptera: Acrididae) in Honduras and redescription of the genus Podapolipoides

Podapolipoides cohni n. sp. (Acari: Heterostigmata) is described from Aidemona azteca (Saussure) (Orthoptera: Acrididae) collected from La Empalizada, near Juticulpa, El Departamento Olancho, Honduras, by the junior author. A rediscription of the genus Podapolipoides and keys to American species are based on new discoveries.
