Communities of Ephemeroptera and Heteroptera in mountain streams of northern Thailand in relation to elevation, mesohabitat, and watershed

Kirana Kirawanich and Robert W. Sites. University of Missouri-Columbia, Department of Entomology, 1-87 Agriculture Bldg, Columbia, MO

Ephemeroptera nymphs and Heteroptera nymphs and adults were collected from three elevations in each of three watersheds on Doi Inthanon and Doi Suthep mountains in northern Thailand. Samples were collected from distinct mesohabitats including leafpacks, riffles, waterfall rockfaces, pools, and margins. Comparisons of taxonomic richness and compositional similarity were made among elevations, mesohabitats, and watershed within each taxonomic order. Differences in habitat association between Ephemeroptera and Heteroptera are discussed.

Species 1: Ephemeroptera
Species 2: Heteroptera
