Novel baits containing two concentrations of the chitin synthesis inhibitor noviflumuron combined with spinosad were compared to four commercially available bait products for control of fire ants. Individual mounds and quarter-acre plots infested with fire ants were evaluated up to 26 weeks post-application. Overall the highest concentration of noviflumuron combined with spinosad provided the best long term control.

Species 1: Hymenoptera Formicidae Solenopsis invicta (red imported fire ant)
Keywords: mounds
