Specialization and its implications on diversification in Stator seed beetles

Geoff E. Morse and Brian D. Farrell. Harvard University, Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, 26 Oxford St, Cambridge, MA

Host plant specialization by phytophagous insects is often seen as the key to their remarkable diversification. This paper will detail the phylogenetic trajectories of resource use evolution in the seed beetle genus Stator (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae) and discuss the implications of specialization on speciation and diversification.

Species 1: Coleoptera Chrysomelidae/Bruchidae Stator
Keywords: Specialization, Phylogenetics
